Hotel Bellinzona Wedding
The crisp winter air hung heavy as Reuben and I set off down the freeway, the car thermometer displaying a measly 5 degrees. Our destination: Daylesford, a charming country town nestled in the heart of Victoria, for Laura and Matthew’s wedding at the enchanting Hotel Bellinzona.
A hearty breakfast at the boathouse provided much-needed warmth and fueled our excitement for the day ahead. Arriving at Grange Bellinzona, we were instantly smitten by its undeniable country charm. The Edwardian-style building, bathed in the soft winter light, stood proudly against the backdrop of the Wombat State Forest, creating a picture of pure elegance.
The atmosphere was buzzing with love and anticipation. Laura and Matthew, surrounded by their closest friends and family, exuded a calmness that defied the usual pre-wedding jitters. A big shoutout to Deb, the wedding coordinator extraordinaire, whose magic touch ensured everything ran smoothly.
But the real star of the show (apart from the soon-to-be-weds, of course!) were the bride’s flowers. A cascade of sunshine-yellow sunflowers filled the air with their cheerful glow. These vibrant blooms instantly became my new favorite; a burst of color that perfectly embodied the joy of the day.
The weather gods seemed to be on their side too. As if on cue, the rain stopped just as the ceremony concluded, allowing us to capture some intimate moments between Laura and Matthew as they explored the picturesque gardens. It was pure magic, the golden afternoon light casting a warm glow on their love.
Now, here’s a fun fact: Laura and Matthew are self-proclaimed Doctor Who fanatics! Their love for the iconic sci-fi show subtly (or not so subtly!) weaved its way into the reception decor. While I may not be a Whovian myself (yet!), their infectious enthusiasm has me itching to binge-watch the entire series once wedding season wraps up.
Laura and Matthew’s Hotel Bellinzona wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, laughter, and a touch of sci-fi whimsy. It was a day filled with warmth, both from the winter sun and the genuine affection that surrounded the couple. A memory we, and surely Laura and Matthew, will cherish forever.
