Fergusson Winery Wedding
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I’ve got a wedding story that’s more magical than a swish and flick! Last weekend, Reuben and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Dimitrii and Kathryn’s gorgeous Fergusson Winery Wedding, and let me tell you, it was an enchanting affair from start to finish.
Now, you know I love a good love story, and these two? They’re straight out of a fairytale – with a dash of Hogwarts charm! If you’d seen their engagement session a few months back, you’d understand. We’re talking full-on spell wand battles in a sun-drenched field. So, I knew their wedding day would have some delightful, subtle nods to their inner witches and wizards. Keep your eyes peeled, because those little DIY details were pure gold!
Fergusson Winery in the Yarra Valley is always a treat to photograph. The rolling vineyards and rustic charm just scream romance. But Mother Nature had a little surprise up her sleeve on Dimitrii and Kathryn’s big day. The ceremony, originally planned for the picturesque outdoor setting, had to be moved indoors to the cozy barrel room. And honestly? It was perfect! The soft light filtering through the winery, the intimate setting surrounded by those beautiful barrels – it created such a warm and romantic atmosphere. Sometimes, those unexpected changes lead to the most magical moments.
Speaking of magic, the ceremony itself was so sweet and heartfelt. You could just feel the love radiating between Dimitrii and Kathryn. There were smiles, a few happy tears, and that undeniable spark that makes you just know these two are meant to be.
Then came portrait time, and wouldn’t you know it? The heavens decided to open up! But did that dampen the spirits? Not even a little bit! We embraced the cozy indoors of Fergusson Winery, finding beautiful pockets of light and rustic backdrops. And honestly, some of my favourite shots from the day came from those moments. There’s something so intimate and romantic about capturing those newlywed moments against the backdrop of a working winery.
As the evening rolled around, the party truly got started! The dance floor at Fergusson Winery was absolutely electric. Dimitrii, Kathryn, and their amazing crew brought all the energy, and Reuben and I were right there in the thick of it, capturing every joyful jump, spin, and celebratory cheer. Honestly, photographing a dance floor that alive is pure joy for us. You can just feel the happiness in the air!
From the subtle Harry Potter nods in their DIY décor (think strategically placed golden snitches and maybe a Marauder’s Map peeking out!) to the pure, unadulterated joy on the dance floor, Dimitrii and Kathryn’s Fergusson Winery Wedding was a dream to be a part of. It was a beautiful reminder that even when plans change, the most important thing – that incredible love between two people – shines through.
