Cherry Hill Orchards proposal

Cherry Hill Orchards Proposal

Some proposals take months of planning, but sometimes all it takes is a message, a spark of an idea, and the perfect backdrop. Jono messaged me just a week before he planned to propose to Hilary, and as soon as he said Cherry Hill Orchards, I knew it was going to be something special.

The Cherry Hill Orchards festival only runs for a short window each year. For just two weeks, the trees explode into full bloom, rows and rows of blossoms like soft clouds drifting above you. It’s a fleeting kind of beauty, which made it the most magical place for a proposal.

On the afternoon of, we arrived early. Jono was buzzing with nerves and excitement as he set up his surprise. He’d printed photographs to hang on strings, creating a “walk down memory lane” for Hilary. Under the story that she was simply meeting her friends to walk a dog, Hilary had no idea what was waiting for her in the blossoms.

I’ll never forget the moment she arrived. Jono shifted nervously, pacing a little, before standing tall with a big bunch of flowers in front of a round backdrop and picnic blanket. When Hilary saw him, her whole face lit up. The smiles, the laughter, the joy, it was completely infectious. She was caught totally by surprise, and said “yes” without a moment’s hesitation.

Afterwards, the orchard turned into their celebration ground. We wandered through the blossoms, photographing them as they held hands, laughed, and soaked in the first few minutes of being officially engaged. The blossoms framed them perfectly soft, romantic, and fleeting, just like that magical moment.

A Cherry Hill Orchards proposal is already a dream, but this one was even more than that. It was heartfelt, personal, and overflowing with love.
