Redwood Forest Proposal – A Love Story Worthy of Forks

Rowan and I had been quietly scheming for weeks. He was planning to propose to his girlfriend Dona, his partner of three years, his Tinder match, his second-chance-at-love. After a slightly rocky first date (one of those classic “well… maybe we just weren’t in sync yet” stories), Dona gave Rowan another shot and thank goodness she did.

The scene was set at the towering Red Wood Forest in Warburton, a spot that already feels straight out of a fairytale. Or in this case, a vampire romance saga. Because, yes—Dona is a die-hard Twilight fan. So much so, they were blasting the soundtrack on their drive out to the forest. Honestly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect match between story, setting, and the moment that was about to unfold.

The plan was simple: keep an eye out for Rowan’s blue Mazda as they pulled into the car park, then stealthily follow them into the woods. When Rowan got up on his tiptoes and kissed her head twice, we’d know he was about to propose. Easy, right?

Well. Not exactly.

We spotted the car. We saw them disappear into the trees. And then… we lost them. Just like that. One minute they were there, the next they were swallowed up by towering trunks and dappled light. Cue us sprinting through the forest like characters in a dramatic movie montage, hoping we hadn’t missed it all.

And then—magic. We found them just in time. Rowan dropped to one knee, and Dona’s world shifted forever.

Watching them together, you could feel the ease between them. Their body language said it allthey gravitated toward each other like two puzzle pieces finally clicking into place. No awkward hesitation, just a natural closeness. They fit like a glove. Or, in the words of Bella Swan,

“About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him—and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be—that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

Yeah… that kind of love.

The Redwood Forest was the dreamiest backdrop for this kind of moment. Quiet. Still. Lush. The way the light filters through those towering trees—it feels like stepping into another world. A perfect choice for a couple who found each other through chaos, took a second chance, and walked into the woods only to find a new beginning.

Thinking of planning your own Red Wood Forest Proposal? If you’ve got a Twilight fan in your life (or you just love moody, cinematic vibes), this spot is pure magic. I’m always up for helping plan the sneaky logistics, scout the perfect locations, and capture your love story as it unfolds—head kisses, sprinting through trees, and all.

Let’s dream it up together.
