Autumn Oak Tree Proposal | Aayush & Jyoti

There is something incredibly special about capturing a proposal. It’s a tiny moment in time, filled with nerves, excitement, and a lifetime of memories waiting to begin.

A few weeks before his planned proposal, Aayush reached out wanting to capture the moment he asked Jyoti to marry him. He had already pictured the setting, a beautiful oak tree tucked away inside the Royal Botanic Gardens, and wanted to make sure every detail came together perfectly.

In the week leading up to the proposal, Aayush went location scouting and found the perfect spot. He sent through photos of the oak tree along with a GPS pin so I knew exactly where to be waiting when they arrived. Those little details are always such a big part of making a surprise proposal feel effortless on the day.

On a beautiful autumn afternoon, with golden light filtering through the trees and the gardens glowing with colour, everything came together exactly as planned.

Aayush and Jyoti wandered towards their favourite oak tree, completely unaware that their next chapter was about to begin. The nerves, the excitement, the happy tears, and the joy that followed made it such a beautiful moment to witness and capture.

After the proposal, my husband Reuben and I joined them for a relaxed walk through the gardens, celebrating this new chapter together. We explored the winding paths, enjoyed the beautiful autumn surroundings, and captured the happiness that filled the rest of their afternoon.

The best part of proposal photography is not just the moment someone gets down on one knee. It’s everything that follows. The laughter, the hugs, the quiet moments where it finally sinks in that they are engaged.

Aayush and Jyoti, thank you for trusting us to be part of such an incredible milestone. It was an honour to capture the beginning of this next adventure together, surrounded by the beauty of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
